What's free and what's Plus

Free, forever: one new word every day with its complete entry, saving words and everything you've saved, every widget (Home Screen, Lock Screen, StandBy), one drill session a day, and daily notifications at your hour.

Headword Plus adds 5 or 10 words a day delivered across the hours you choose, unlimited drill sessions, and custom collections. It's a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase, billed by Apple through your Apple Account.

Restoring a purchase

Plus is tied to your Apple Account, not to a Headword account (there isn't one). On a new phone, or after reinstalling, open any Plus offer — for example Settings → Words a day → 5 — and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with.

Cancelling or changing a subscription

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open the iPhone Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Headword. Cancelling keeps Plus until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are Apple's to grant, at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Notifications

Headword sends local notifications only — one per word as it arrives, plus an optional evening drill reminder. Both switches and both times are in Headword's Settings. If you turned notifications off for Headword in iOS Settings, turn them back on there first; the app will not ask you again.

Widgets

Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap the + (or Edit → Add Widget), and search for Headword. The Lock Screen widget is added from the Lock Screen's Customize screen, and the same widget appears in StandBy. Widgets work offline and update on their own as each word arrives.

Your data

Your saved words, collections, progress and the sentences you write in the drill live on your iPhone, inside the app. Nothing is uploaded to us — there is no Headword account or server. Deleting the app deletes all of it. The privacy policy says the same thing at more length.

Languages

The interface is in English and Spanish, following your iPhone's language. The words you learn are English in both — that is the point.
